Teaching

Teaching is a very important part of my experience working in mathematics. I enjoy having an active classroom, and strive to create an environment where everyone feels comfortable participating and asking for help. Supporting and understanding math education in a broader context is important to me, and from Fall 2023 to Spring 2025 I was a grad student participant in an NSF-funded professional development project with Boston-area high school math teachers. In 2023 and 2025, I was awarded the Donald J. White Teaching Excellence Award for teaching at Boston College.

Mentorship:

In the 2023-2024 academic year, I supervised a BC undergraduate in an independent study project. The focus was hyperbolic geometry and the Farey tessellation. This culminated in a poster presentation at the MathForAll Conference (BC Satellite).
